Helen Marie Dodge Marti, age 88 of Mankato, died Friday, August 17, 2012 at Keystone Communities of Mankato.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Hilltop United Methodist Church. Burial will be in New Ulm City Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials preferred to Hilltop United Methodist Church of Mankato, Brown County Historical Society or Blue Earth County Historical Society. Mankato Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.

Helen Marie was born on July 4, 1924, to Benjamin and Ida (Krugel) Dodge in Mankato. She graduated from Mankato High School in 1942. Helen married Lloyd B. Marti of New Ulm on November 5, 1949. They lived in Newton, Iowa; Red Wing and New Ulm, Minnesota.

Helen is survived by son, Jed (Kathryn) Marti of Salt Lake City, Utah, daughter, Jill (Gordon) Dingman of Casa Grande, Arizona, son, Kit (Rebecca) Marti of Prior Lake; sister, Berneal Schindle of Mankato; grandchildren, Jennifer (Matthew) Martens of Pipestone, MN, Todd (Kari) Marti of Salt Lake City, Utah, Timothy Marti of Cusco, Peru, Julianne, Sarah, and Eleanor Marti of Prior Lake, Scott (Benita) Dingman of Bemidji, Robert (Martine) Dingman of Boston, Massachusetts; great grandchildren, Mya, Ryan, Tristan, Johnathon, Lydya, Cole, and Austin; nephews, Randy (Pam) Schindle of St. Clair, and Larry Schindle of Mankato; great nephews, Brad (Heather) Hofius of Mankato and Benjamin and Jacob Schindle of Mankato.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; parents, Benjamin and Ida, and a brother, Leon.
