George A. Rosnau
George Arthur Rosnau, age 84, of Mankato died Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 19, 2008 at Centenary United Methodist Church, Mankato with Rev. Pam Serdar officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Mankato. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m., Sunday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at church on Monday. Memorials may be given to Centenary United Methodist - Capital Improvement Fund, ISJ Hospice, Salvation Army " Bed and Bread Program, or donor's choice.
George was born December 17, 1923 to Herman A. and Adina (King) Rosnau in Winthrop, MN. He graduated from Winthrop High School and Mankato Commercial College. He served his country during WWII with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theatre as a Staff Sergeant. He was united in marriage to Jeanne L. Simondet on September 19, 1953. George was employed by Schulze and Burch Biscuit Company for 10 years, was dealership accountant for Beutz Motors for 7 years, and director of purchasing for Mankato State University for 22 years before retiring. He was a member of the Mankato Lions Club, VFW, North Mankato Kiwanis Golden K and a life member of American Legion Post #11. George enjoyed gardening and watching the Minnesota Twins.
George is survived by his son, John Rosnau and wife, Janet of Barnum, MN; brother, Lowell Rosnau and wife, Dorothy of Brainerd; sister, Vivian Skogerbo and husband, Peter of Rochester; brother-in-law, Russell Simondet of Lake Crystal; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
George was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jeanne in 2004; and an infant brother.
