Eleanor L. Bolger died Monday evening, April 14, 2008 at Pathstone Living in Mankato.
Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church in Mankato with Rev. Joel Erickson officiating. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Friday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Memorials are preferred to Grace Lutheran Church, ARC, Pathstone Living, or REM Mankato.
Eleanor was born April 5, 1921 in Mankato to John Harry and Ella (Farm) Larson. She was a 1939 graduate of Mankato High School and attended Mankato Commercial College. She was employed by US Government in Washington DC during WWII. On September 17, 1949, she was united in marriage with Edward K. Bolger at Grace Lutheran Church in Mankato. In 1963 the family moved to Long Prairie where Eleanor resided until her husband's death in 1978. During that time she worked at Cathedral Press as a bookkeeper. Upon returning to Mankato she worked as a bookkeeper for the Mankato Public School System until her retirement.
Eleanor was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, where she was active in Circle. She was also an active member of the Swedish Club. She volunteered at Mankato Lutheran Home and other organizations, including MRCI. She enjoyed playing bridge, reading, baking, listening to music, and traveling with her sister, Lorraine.
Survivors include her four daughters, Kristin (Deane) Olson of North Mankato, Jan (Tony) Rogness of Albert Lea, Lynn (Gregg) Dale of Inver Grove Heights, Judi Kay Bolger of Mankato; three grandchildren, Mandy (Derik) Budig of Aberdeen, SD, Krista (Chad) Kemp of Maple Grove, Christopher Dale of Inver Grove Heights; three great-grandchildren, Ella, Addie, and Lily Budig; and beloved cousin, Elaine Brandenburg of Houston, TX.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eddie; and sister, Lorraine Larson.
