Ardith E Parsons

Ardith Elaine Parsons, age 81 of Vernon Center, died Friday April 11, 2008 at Immanuel " St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church in Vernon Center with Rev. Jean Sidner officiating. Burial will be in Vernon Center Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 " 7 p.m., Monday at Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will also be held one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday. Memorials may be given to the donor's choice.

Ardith was born May 30 1926 in Mason City, Iowa to Elvin and Cora (Yahnke) Stokesbary. She lived near Klemme, Iowa until 1934 when they moved to a farm near Garden City, Minnesota. She attended school at Garden City. After Ardith graduated, she attended Commercial College at Mankato. She went to work at A.S.C. office in Mankato. Ardith married Dale Parsons on January 21, 1948 at Amboy Methodist Church. She and her husband farmed in the Vernon Center area.

Ardith was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Vernon Center and was very active in the ladies organizations of the Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling, family gatherings, and loved to cook.

She is survived by her husband, Dale of rural Amboy; son, Kirk (Vickie) Parsons of Vernon Center; daughter, Karen (Tim) Haroldson of Amboy; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brother, Everett (Glatha) Stokesbary of Mankato; brother-in-law, Lowell (Nadine) Parsons of Rochester; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ardith was preceded in death by her parents.

The family is grateful for the wonderful care Ardith received during her time at Oaklawn Health Care Center.
