Carl F. "C.F." Quaday, age 96 of Lake Crystal, died Thursday, April 3, 2008 at the Lake Crystal Health Care Center in Lake Crystal.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 7, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church in Mankato with Rev. Dawn Carder officiating. Private burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park, Mankato. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Sunday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Memorials may be given to an organization of the donor's choice.

Carl was born on June 4, 1911 in rural Blue Earth, Minnesota to William and Lorena (Levenick) Quaday. He was a 1927 graduate of Blue Earth High School. He married Arlene Pringle and they later divorced. On September 19, 1953 he was united in marriage to Mildred Anderson in Hennepin County. Carl enjoyed cars and was a salesman for 71 years. He started selling cars for D.D. Murphy, Klatt Motors, and the Motor Inn all of Blue Earth. In 1956 they moved to Askov, Minnesota where they farmed until 1961. They then moved to the Mankato area where he worked for Clements Auto before owning and operating Midtown Motors and C.F. Quaday and Sons Motors on 3rd Avenue before retiring in 1993. Carl enjoyed fishing, playing the accordion and harmonica, playing cards, poker, reading and talking about cars. At Lake Crystal Health Care Center he enjoyed socializing, playing bingo and walking down memory lane.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred of Lake Crystal; children, Ailene Q. Gray of Spirit Lake, IA, Linda (Steve) Howk of Surprise, AZ, Frank Quaday of Janesville, Leon (Sandy) Quaday of Eagle Lake, Sue (Scott) Lohse of Mankato, Duane Quaday and special friend Marilyn Rachuy of Lake Crystal, and Valerie (Ross) Richter of Morristown; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Marie Anderson of Bemidji; brother, Dick (Neva) Quaday of Blue Earth; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, John; son, Curtis; grandson, Christopher; and granddaughter, Mindy.
