Richard A. Schutte
Richard Arnold Schutte, age 63, of North Mankato died Thursday, April 3, 2008 at Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 7, 2008 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, North Mankato with Rev. Ed Ardolf officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m., Sunday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at church on Monday.
Richard was born November 29, 1944 to Arnold and Bernice (Wullum) Schutte in Mankato. He graduated from Mapleton High School in 1963. He served his country with the US Army from 1963-66, serving nine months in Vietnam. He was united in marriage to Emily Schutte on December 4, 1976 in Iowa. Richard was employed by Atlantis Plastic for 15 years and Fine Impressions for 21 years retiring in 2007. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, a life member of VFW Post 950, a member of American Legion Riders, and North Mankato American Legion Post 518. He enjoyed riding motorcycle, fishing, spending time with his family and traveling.
Richard is survived by his wife, Emily of North Mankato; three children, Irene (Brad) Leiferman of Mankato, Dave Schutte of North Mankato, Sandi Schutte and fianc", Jared Hutchison of Doniphan, MO; grandchild, Mykencie Hutchison; mother, Bernice Schutte of Mankato; sister-in-law, Peggy (Ray) Wibstad of Nicollet; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Arnold in 1992; brother, Larry in 1985; two cousins, Mark Bresser and Betty Maes.
