Rosella J Jones

Rosella Jane Jones, age 101, of Lake Crystal, died Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Pathstone Living in Mankato.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday at the First Presbyterian Church, Lake Crystal with Rev. Randal Lubbers officiating. Burial will be in Jerusalem Cemetery, Judson Township, Blue Earth County. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m., Sunday at Lake Crystal Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at church on Monday.

Rosella was born September 20, 1906 to Richard T. and Mary Anna (Evans) Thomas in Judson Township, Blue Earth County. She attended Four Corners country school in Judson Township before moving to Lake Crystal in 1920 and graduating from Lake Crystal High School. She attended Business College in Mankato and then moved to Chicago in 1927. She met her husband Roland H. Jones in Chicago and they were married on May 28, 1929 in Lake Crystal. They lived in the Chicago area before moving to Lake Crystal in November of 1966. Rosella was employed from 1927 to 1942 as a bookkeeper with the Chicago Motor Club, later with Carter and Holmes Neckwear Company, and Marshall Field and Company Department Store. Rosella was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she was a past elder, member of the Women's Association, and circle. She was also a treasurer for Jerusalem Cemetery for 17 years retiring in 2000 and a former member of Fern Chapter 4 of Eastern Star where she was a past Worthy matron twice during her years as a member. Rosella enjoyed crafts including sewing and crocheting.

Rosella is survived by many cousins.

Rosella was preceded in death by her husband, Roland on November 22, 1989; and an infant brother.
