Carolyn M. Walters, age 55, of Vernon Center, died Friday, March 14, 2008 at the Madelia Community Hospital.
Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church in Lake Crystal, with Rev. Randal Lubbers officiating. Burial will be in Lake Crystal Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday at Lake Crystal Mortuary and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Memorials are preferred to the Susan G. Komen Breast cancer Foundation, First Presbyterian Church, or to the donor's choice.
Carolyn was born September 19, 1952 in Mankato. She was the daughter of Thomas Jr. and Gertrude (Jones) Walters. Carolyn was a 1971 graduate of Lake Crystal High School. She attended the University of Minnesota and graduated from Mankato State University. Carolyn was united in marriage to Ron Kietzer on September 24, 1988 in Lake Crystal. She and Ron owned and operated Judson Cycle Sales in Lake Crystal. Carolyn was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Lake Crystal. She enjoyed motorcycling, flowers and plants, music, and spending time with family and friends.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Ron of Vernon Center; mother, Gertrude Walters of Lake Crystal; brother, Forrest "Woody" (Lois) Walters of Prior Lake; nieces and nephews, Heather (Steve) Schierenbeck, Terry Walters and special friend, Tina Leclaire, Laura (Lee) Karow, Priscilla (Rev. Matthew) Gurath, Sarah Walters and special friend, Chad Eastling, Curt Kietzer (fianc"e, Jordan), Colleen (Joe) Bartels, Debra (Jim) Pederson, and Corrine (John) Whelan; many grand nieces and nephews; uncle, Edgar (Joan) Jones of Elk River; aunt, Ellen Walters of New Ulm; mother-in-law, Delta Kietzer; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Niemeier and Lydia Kietzer; and best friend, B.J. (Steven) Dreyer.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Walters Jr. in 1997.
