Elenora Marie Hawker, age 89, of St. Clair, died Friday, March 7, 2008 at Immanuel-St. Joseph Hospital in Mankato.
Funeral service will be 11:00a.m., Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Clair. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Monday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday. Burial will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to an organization of the donor's choice.
Elenora was born August 23, 1918 in McPherson Township, Blue Earth County. She was the daughter of Frank and Marie (Holtz) Maass. She was a 1935 graduate of Pemberton High School. On June 2, 1937, she was united in marriage to Alvin Hawker at Medo Lutheran Church. They farmed in Blue Earth County for many years. Elenora worked at various jobs in St. Clair and was a homemaker for her family. Elenora was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Clair where she was a Sunday school teacher and member of the ladies aid. She enjoyed playing cards and having coffee with her friends.
Elenora is survived by her four children, Marian (Jerry) Westphal of Welcome, Darlene (David) Terhurne of Mankato, Dale Hawker of St. Clair, Laurie (Randy) Cords of Mankato; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; two sisters- in-laws, Frieda Westphal of Mankato and Sally Hawker of Lake Crystal; brother-in-law, Lyle (Lilla) Hawker of Mankato; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Elenora was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter; husband, in 2001; son-in-law, Ronald Flo; great-grandson, Brett Terhurne; and four siblings, Elmer Maass, Rosalia Lust, Leona Hansen, and Mildred Dahlberg.
