Florence E Sperra

Florence E. Sperra, age 103, of Mankato and formerly of Good Thunder, died Sunday, March 2, 2008 at Mankato House Health Care Center.

Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 7, 2008 at St. John Lutheran Church in Good Thunder, with Rev. Rudolph H. Maurer Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Lyra Cemetery. Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church, Good Thunder or the Good Thunder American Legion. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Florence was born May 27, 1904 in Good Thunder. She was the daughter of Paul and Bertha (Possin) Sperra. Florence was employed with Brett's Department Store for many years before her retirement. She was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church in Good Thunder and participated in the Ladies Aid. Florence took care of her parents and later her brother when they were in failing health. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, and cleaning.

Florence is survived by many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Victor in 1988.
