Juanita Caballero

Juanita Marie Caballero, age 81 of Mankato died Tuesday morning, February 26, 2008 at Pathstone Living in Mankato.

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at Mankato Mortuary with Rev. Jerry David officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim"s Rest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Juanita was born October 4, 1926 in Minneapolis to Tony and Amy (Lind) Estrada. She was united in marriage to Jesse Caballero on November 7, 1943 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Mankato. After her husband established Caballero Delivery Service in 1945, Juanita became his business partner and was the business administrative assistant. Besides being involved with Bible Study and Garden Club, she enjoyed taking art classes, listening and watching Spanish influenced music and dance, gardening, and opera music. Besides sharing her love for animals, especially cats, her passion was that of her grandchildren.

Juanita is survived by her children, Linda (Terry) Bleecker of Eagan, Gloria Caballero of El Paso, TX, Daniel Caballero of Mankato; a nephew/son, Alfred Padilla of Minneapolis; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two siblings, Jon (Kathy) Estrada of Champlin, Bonnie (Jim) Lundeen of Edina; in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Jesse on December 31, 2007, two sisters, Dorothy and Penny, and a brother, Richard.
