Raymond J. Sieberg, age 84, died Monday, January 28, 2008 at his Eagle Lake residence.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 31, 2008 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Mankato with Rev. Don Rauscher, S.J. officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Mankato Mortuary with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will continue one hour before service at church on Thursday. Memorials may be given to ISJ Hospice or an organization of the donor's choice.

Raymond was born September 3, 1923 in LeRay Township, Blue Earth County to Leo and Anna (Dascher) Sieberg. He attended schools in Madison Lake and Eagle Lake. He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII in the Pacific Theatre. Raymond was united in marriage on November 28, 1946 to Agnes Smisek in Mankato. Raymond worked as a carpenter, then with Suttle's, which later became Hermel of Mankato, and Mankato State University in the maintenance department. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and a charter member of the Eagle Lake American Legion. He enjoyed hunting in his earlier years, fishing, and card playing.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Agnes of Eagle Lake; four children, James Sieberg of Mankato, Janice (Daryl) Jacobsen of Eagle Lake, Jerome Sieberg of Fairfield, CA, Richard Sieberg of Eagle Lake; six grandsons, Bradley, Ryan, and Scott Sieberg, Eric and Chad Jacobsen, Joseph Sieberg; one great-grandson, Cody Sieberg; two sisters, Loretta Severns, Mary Ann (Tony) Oberle; brother, Ollie (Jeanie) Sieberg all of Mankato; many nieces and nephews.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; infant son; two sisters, Marcella and Delores; two brothers, Marvin and Cletus; two brothers-in-law, Bud Severns and Louie Schimek; sister-in-law, Cecelia Sieberg.
