Robert H Speck

Robert Herman Speck, age 87, of Good Thunder, died Saturday, January 26, 2008 at Mankato House Health Care Center.

A time of remembrance with the family will be held from 1 - 4 p.m., Saturday, February 2, 2008, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Good Thunder. A private family service will follow. Mankato Mortuary assisted with arrangements.

Robert was born March 23, 1920 to Herman and Amanda (Zuelke) Speck in Good Thunder. He was united in marriage to Emma Miller on May 4, 1952 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Good Thunder. Robert enjoyed farming, keeping his kids in line, hunting, and fishing.

Robert is survived by his wife, Emma of Good Thunder; five children, Herman Speck of Vernon Center, Arlene (Don) Appel of Mapleton, Margaret Speck of Northfield, Sharon Speck-Edward, and Paul Speck both of Good Thunder; six grandchildren, Amanda, Bill, Jason, Theresa, and Daniel Appel, Emily Edwards; sister, Verna Evans of Mankato; many nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Max Speck; three sisters, Irma Beinke, Alida Hahn, Adeline Bohlen; and one son-in-law, Harlan Edwards.
