Everett C Finch

Everett Charles Finch, age 70, of Mankato, died Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 28, 2008 at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Mankato, with Rev. Steve Kosberg officiating. Burial will be in Kasota Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-4 p.m., Sunday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before the service at the church on Monday. Memorials may be given to the Minnesota Conservation Volunteer or to an organization of the donor's choice.

Everett was born November 29, 1937 in Brainerd to Everett and Nora Katherine (Holsapple) Finch. On April 12, 1958, he was united in marriage to Barbara D. Taylor in Mankato. Everett had been employed by Hubbard Milling Company as a truck driver, millwright, and a warehouse supervisor, retiring after 40 years. He was a member of the Grain Millers Union and the Mankato Labor Temple, where he was a past president.

Everett enjoyed hunting, ice and spear fishing, the outdoors and during his younger years, stock car racing. He loved playing his guitar, accordion, and listening to all types of music. However, his true passion was spending time with his family.

Everett is survived by eight children, Everett C. Finch Jr. and wife, Sandy of rural Mapleton, Scott F. Finch and wife, Tammy of Mankato, Gregg C. Finch and wife, Donna of rural Janesville, Todd C. Finch and wife, Dawn of Smith's Mill, Kirk A. Finch and wife, Beth of St. Clair, Nona K. Miller and husband, Tim of Mankato, Paul M. Finch and wife, Michelle of North Mankato, and Drew C. Finch of Albuquerque, NM; twenty-six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five brothers and their wives, Louis and Dee Finch of Eagle River, Alaska, Curtis and Jan Finch of Glenallen, Alaska, Gary and Cindy Finch of Brainerd, Michael and Rachel Finch of Deer River, Steve and Becky Finch of Eagle River, Alaska; three sisters and their husbands, Carolyn and Jack Strong of Brainerd, Gayle and Doug Boucher of Danville, Pennsylvania, Jeanie and Harvey Kahn of Chugiak, Alaska; brother-in-law, Bruce Taylor and wife, Rocky of Burnsville; sisters-in-law, Sharon Loewen and husband, Mel of Cripple Creek, CO, Iris Finch of Fort Ripley; numerous nieces and nephews.

Everett was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara on June 3, 2007; and a brother, Wayne.
