Danny Lewis, age 80 of Lake Crystal, died Monday, May 21, 2012 at the Methodist Hospital in Rochester.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, May 25, 2012 at First United Methodist Church in Lake Crystal with Rev. Debbie King Quale officiating. Burial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday at Woodland Hills Memorial Park in Mankato. Visitation will be held from
4 " 7 p.m., Thursday at Lake Crystal Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association or the First United Methodist Church, Lake Crystal.
Danny was born January 17, 1932 to Art and Dolly (Stenerson) Lewis in Lake Crystal, MN. He graduated from Lake Crystal High School, and then served for the United States Army. Danny was united in marriage to Margaret "Maggie" Mae Fleming on April 1, 1955 in Mankato. Danny was supervisor of the punch press department for Kato Engineering for 40 plus years until retiring at the age of 62. He was a member of the American Legion Post #294, very active member of the First United Methodist Church where he cleaned, mowed, ushered, and drove other members to church, was Volunteer of the Year for Country Neighbors, and delivered Meals on Wheels. Danny enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, playing cards, and trips to the casino. He was a thoughtful and caring husband, dad, grandpa, companion, friend and neighbor who would do anything for you.
Danny is survived by his devoted son, Paul (very special daughter-in-law, Kathy Mork-Lewis) Lewis of Kasson, MN; his favorite and only granddaughter, Megan Lewis; two brothers: Darrell (LaVola) and Jim Lewis of Lake Crystal; his loving companion, Jean Childs of Lake Crystal; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents; his loving, endearing wife Maggie; siblings: Marlene Neumann, Gordon, Dale, and Dean Lewis.
