Lynn V. Blumenshein, 67, passed away unexpectedly May 16 in Bemidji.
Visitation will be 2 - 5 p.m. Sunday, May 20 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Mankato. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 21 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Mankato. Mankato Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Lynn was born February 15, 1945 to Raymond and Olive (Severns) Blumenshein in Mankato, MN. Lynn graduated from Mankato West High School in 1963. He was in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1968, serving two tours of duty in the Vietnam War. Lynn became a licensed journeyman electrician. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and worked on the Alaskan Pipeline in 1981. Lynn retired as an electrician at Minnesota State University, Mankato in 2007 after 18 years of service.
Lynn is survived by his wife Rose (Mead); sons Scot (Sarah) of Bemidji and Adam (Danelle) of Austin, TX; brother Darryl (Kay) of Coal Valley, IL; sister Dawn (Robert) Kaiser of Madelia; and five grandchildren.
Lynn was preceded in death by his father Raymond, mother Olive and brother Dennis.
Lynn enjoyed nature, fishing and the outdoors. He camped in almost every state park in Minnesota and was especially fond of the north woods. In 2011, Lynn and Rose moved to their dream home on Lake Beltrami near Bemidji.
