Linnea Rebecca was born June 26, 1934 to the Rev. Alfred and Esther (Gustafson) Peterson. After her graduation in 1956, Linnea taught high school and elementary phy ed in Lake Crystal. She was also the Girl's Athletic Association advisor and cheerleading advisor. While teaching at Lake Crystal High School, Linnea met the new Ag teacher, Norman Sieling. The couple wed August 23, 1959. They were blessed with five children, Laurie, Jay, Jeff, Scott and Jodi.

Linnea shifted her teaching from the classroom to the home, employing her energy, creativity and love for learning in caring for her family. She loved sports, as a participant and spectator. She cheered and attended the many activities of her children and grandchildren in high school and college. Golf became a favorite activity and she and Norm played several different courses throughout the state. An annual family golf outing developed where everyone, even the grandkids participated.

Linnea was active in her community as a volunteer, in extension groups, and her local Red Hat club.

Linnea was active in her church and had a deep faith in the love of Jesus. It was this strong faith that helped her endure amyloidosis for six years.
