Julie Ann Miller, age 78, of Mankato, died on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at her home.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 5 at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Harold Tongen officiating. Visitation will be on Friday May 4 from 5-7 p.m. at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Julie was born on October 12, 1933 in Mankato to Howard and Fern (Snure) Williams. She graduated from Mankato High School in 1951 and the University of Minnesota with a degree in Home Economics. On August 20, 1955 Julie was united in marriage to Theodore Miller at the First Presbyterian Church. Together they raised four children and lived in various places with Ted's military career including: Virginia, Monterey, CA, Lemoore, CA, San Pedro, CA, San Diego, CA, Beeville, TX, the Philippines, and Pensacola, FL before returning to Mankato in June 1974. Julie was a member of the DAR, PEO, and the Thursday Reading Club. She served on the board for the YWCA and was a former session member at the First Presbyterian Church. Julie enjoyed gardening, sewing, and genealogy.

She is survived by her husband, Theodore "Ted" Miller of Mankato; children: son, Theodore Miller III of Richmond, VA and his children Hannah, Dana and Chelsea, son, Randall (Jill) Miller of North Mankato and his children, Katie and Patti, son, John (Ahna) Miller of North Mankato and their children, Maya and Van, and daughter, Elizabeth (Erick) Marcheschi of Morgan Hills, CA and their children Gunnar and Lukas; and one brother, Lee (Carol) Williams of Mankato. She was preceded in death by her parents.
