Eugenia Leona Heinze, age 85, of Mankato died Monday, April 24, 2012 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 27, 2012 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Mankato with Rev. Wayne Eichstadt, officiating. Burial will be in Eagle Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Thursday at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at church on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Parkinson Association, or Breast Cancer Research.
Eugenia was born June 26, 1926 to Martin and Meta (Heitner) Rahn in Mankato. She graduated from Good Thunder High School. She was united in marriage to Morris A. Heinze on October 10, 1945 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Good Thunder. She was a homemaker for her family. Jeanie was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and its ladies auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and taking care of her grandchildren.
Jeanie is survived by six daughters, Margaret (Dwain) Fraze of North Mankato, Muriel (Nelson) Dunckel of Mankato, Anita Kruse of North Mankato, Annette (David) Hagen of Mankato, Barbara (Ron) Brown of Faribault, Lorene (Pat) Fleming of Pine Island; three sons, Mark (Lori) Heinze, John Heinze, all of rural Madison Lake, Paul (Deb) Heinze of Eau Claire, WI; 35 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Delores (Louis) Schweim or rural Mankato; brother, LeRoy (Norma) Rahn of Good Thunder; brother-in-law, Don Capp of Elko, NV; sister-in-law, Carmen Heinze of North Mankato; many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Morris in 1997; son-in-law, Kevin Kruse; grandson, John Thomas Hagen; great-grandson, Allan Michael Fraze; sister, Marilyn Capp.
