Emma G. Kilian, age 101 of Mankato, died Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Oaklawn Health Care Center in Mankato.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 20, 2012 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Mankato with Rev. Jack Dahl officiating. Burial will be in Barnard's Valley View Cemetery in Good Thunder. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church on Friday. Memorials may be given to the donor's choice. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Emma Kilian was born August 2, 1910 to Albert and Ida (Mahlke) Lang in Winona, Minnesota. She was united in marriage to Leo Kilian on April 7, 1931 in Winona. Emma took great pride in being a homemaker for her family.
She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and a former member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Winona. Emma was also a lifetime member of TOPS and KOPS. Her hobbies and interests included sewing, crafts, gardening, cards and fishing.
Emma is survived by three children, Karen Slipy of Mankato, Linda (Kenneth) Groth of Roseville, Steven (Janet) Kilian of Hutchinson; son-in-law, C. H. (Bud) Barnard of Good Thunder; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo in 2001 and daughter, Marilyn in 2008
