Dale E. Phillips, age 69 of Eagle Lake, died Saturday, April 14, 2012 at his home.

Funeral service will be held at 2 pm, Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary. Burial will be in Kern's Oak Grove Cemetery, Rural North Mankato. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm, Monday at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at the mortuary.

Dale Edward was born December 25, 1949 to Earl and Margaret (Pichelman) Phillips in Union Township, Fayette County, IA. He graduated from high school in Oelwein, IA. Dale served for the United States Air Force from 1960-1961 when he was honorably discharged. On July 23, 1967, he was united in marriage to Dianne Smith at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. They were blessed with four children. Dale loved his family as well as loving to work. He was a hard worker all of his life until he retired in 2000. Dale worked for Dotson Foundry, was a delivery truck driver, and worked for Superior Concrete. He was a member of the American Legion Post #518 and the National Rifle Association. Dale was an avid gun collector, a perfectionist at everything he did (especially mowing the lawn), gardener, and bowler. He loved to travel, take road trips, and be with his dog, Walker.

Dale is survived by his loving wife, Dianne of Eagle Lake; children: Missy (Bill Walters) Phillips, Deb (Chris) Johannsen all of Eagle Lake, Lisa (Jason Edwards) Phillips of Mankato, and John (Michaela) Phillips of Spring Lake, NC; 10 grandchildren: Taryn, Tony, Danielle, Corey, Haley, Jessica, Jacob, Johnathon, Reanna, and Nathan; brother-in-law: Charles (Sally Ann) Smith and many nieces and nephews.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents.
