Robert H. "Howie" Reich, age 72 of Mankato, died Thursday, April 12, 2012 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, April 16, 2012 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Northview- North Mankato Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.

Robert Henry was born August 5, 1939 to Clarence and Ellen (Baker) Reich in Vernon Center. He graduated from Mankato High School. On June 29, 1962, Howie was united in marriage to Nancy Mata at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. They were blessed with two children. For 48 years, Howie worked for Minneopa Concrete/Superior Concrete. Howie enjoyed the outdoors, spending time on the lake, and hanging out with his friends. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and his two grandchildren.

Howie is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Nancy of Mankato; children: Craig (LaRita) Reich of Buffalo and Amy (Roger) Reichel of Mankato; two grandchildren: Alexis Reich and Carter Groen; siblings: Dale (Lynn) Reich, Jerry (Judy) Reich, and Mick Reich; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

Howie was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Jackie Hooper.
