Frederic B. Wilson, M.D., age 84 of North Mankato, died Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Mankato.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 18, 2012 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Octavio Cortez IVE, officiating. Burial will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements. Memorials preferred to the Mankato YMCA.

Frederic B. Wilson was born September 15, 1927 to Frederic and Hazel (Brewer) Wilson in St. Paul, Minnesota. He graduated from St. Thomas Academy High School in 1945 and from St. Thomas College. Fred received his medical degree from St. Louis University Medical School in 1954. He served his country in the US Army from 1945 until discharged in 1947. Fred was married to Theresa Ann Tourville in 1948, they later divorced. He married Mary Ann Kampa in 1965, they later divorced.

Fred worked many years as a psychiatrist and a neurologist in private practice in St. Paul, for the Federal Correctional System at Springfield, MO, and at St. Peter Regional Treatment Center in St. Peter before retiring. He was a member of the North Mankato American Legion. Fred was dedicated to his medical profession. He enjoyed swimming at the Y, reading, but most of all he enjoyed his family.

Fred is survived by his children, Fred (Marilyn) Wilson of Phoenix, AZ, Clare (Lenny) Stitz of Orange, CA, Justin (Gail) Wilson of Chisago, MN, Theresa Marinan of Pasadena, CA, Joseph (Mary) Wilson of Owatonna, MN, Michael (Jerri) Wilson of Tacoma, WA, Mary (Mark) Chase of Brandon, SD, Ronald (Sandra) Wilson of St. Peter, MN, Cindy Berg of Eagan, MN, David (Sandy) Andersen of Carterville, IL; sister, Geraldine (Justin) Hall of Tonka Bay, MN; sister-in-law, Rose Wilson of San Bruno, CA; 29 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents; son, John Wilson; two brothers, Leet and Richard Wilson.
