LeRoy Wrucke

LeRoy Richard "Bud" Wrucke, age 90, of Good Thunder, died Monday, August 6, 2012, at the Mapleton Community Home.

Funeral service will be held at 1:30 P.M., Friday, August 10, 2012, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Good Thunder, with Rev. Rudolph Mauer officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Good Thunder. Visitation will be held from noon until the start of the service at the church. Mankato Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements. Memorials may be given to St. John's Lutheran Church, the Mapleton Community Home, or the donor's choice.

Bud was born on August 9, 1921, in Lyra Township, Blue Earth County. He was the son of Ernest and Bertha (Kaul) Wrucke. Bud was confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in 1935 and attended St. John's Lutheran School. He was a 1940 graduate of Good Thunder High School, where he was active in band, music, baseball, and basketball. Bud was united in marriage to Bernice Wille on February 3, 1943 in Decoria Township. They farmed near Mapleton. Upon their retirement in 1982, they moved to Good Thunder. Bud was a faithful, life-long member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where he served on many boards and committees and was always willing to help with repairs and improvements to the church. He was an avid Twins fan and enjoyed fishing, spending summers at Lake Osakis, bowling, and working on small projects.

Bud is survived by his wife, Millie Darge, whom he married on December 30, 1994, of Good Thunder; two sons, Dennis (Sally) Wrucke of Crystal Lake, IL and Marlin (Kay) Wrucke of Fairmont; four grandchildren, Tony (Ila) Wrucke of Marengo, IL, Kara Wrucke of Boston, MA, Judd (Amber) Wrucke of Fairmont, and Ashley Wrucke of Fairmont; great-grandchildren, Brianna, Cera, Maya, Carter, and Carson; brother, Ervin "Jack" (Helen) Wrucke of Mankato; step-sons, David Darge and Joel (Carolyn) Darge; step-daughters, Beth (Ray) Rush and Cindy (Joe) Ott; twelve step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Alvin (Christine) Wille; sister-in-law, Erna Weiss; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bernie; brother, George; six sisters, Frieda Braile, Elsie Theissen, Rose Pasbrig, Hilda Krueger, Guilfe Pasbrig, and Ruth Hiller.
