Thomas S. Adams, age 81, a lifetime resident of Mankato, entered his eternal life with his Lord Friday, August 4, 2012 at Hillcrest Health Care Center, Mankato. Tom was in the company of his loving wife of 61 years, Connie, and members of his family until the end.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, North Mankato. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at NORTHVIEW - North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato, MN 56001 and will continue one hour prior to service at the church on Thursday. Family burial will be held at a later date in Woodland Hills Memorial Park, Mankato, MN. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Building Fund or the Mankato Chapter of Disabled Veterans.

Thomas Sabin Adams was born to Clifford and Cora Adams on October 15, 1930. Tom married his beloved wife Connie on July 14, 1951 and together were blessed with four children, Linda Jo (Tom) Richards; Douglas (Stephanie) Adams; Daniel Adams; and David (Caron) Adams. He was a committed family man and dearly loved being surrounded by his 21 grandchildren and 20 great-children. Paul and Annie (Legg) Ziegler were also considered members of his family.

Tom worked the family farm his whole life, and proudly managed a Registered Guernsey Herd and dairy operation. He helped found and was President of the AMPI Milk Cooperative. He was a Korean War veteran and he was involved with the local VFW and American Legion. Tom had a heart for education which was reflected in his 30 years of service to the District 77 School Board. He served as President of the Minnesota School Boards Association and was instrumental in the establishment of the South Central Technical College of which he served as Regional Board Chair. Tom was also a faithful church member serving in numerous leadership capacities at Our Savior's Lutheran Church and instilled in his family the importance of Christ-centered living.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Linda Jo, son-in-law Tom Richards, daughter-in-law Ellie (Seys) Adams.
