Joyce M. Patterson, age 83, of Mankato, died Thursday, August 2, 2012 at the Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato.

Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 6, 2012 at Belgrade Avenue United Methodist Church, North Mankato with Rev. Dan Horn, officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday. Private family burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Mankato. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Joyce was born March 18, 1929 to Robert and Gladys (Felt) Othoudt in Mankato. She married Eugene H. "Gene" Patterson on July 26, 1947 in Minnesota Lake and was a devoted and loving wife. She was a member of Belgrade Avenue United Methodist Church and enjoyed baking, sewing, crocheting, and spending time with her family. Most recently she loved spending time with her five great-grandchildren.

Joyce is survived by her two sons and their wives, Ron and Colleen and Gary and Sharon all of North Mankato; five grandchildren, Patrick (Emily) Patterson of Burnsville, Ryan (Kim) Patterson of Janesville, Briana (Jason) Worke of North Mankato, Katie (Matt) Rybak of New Prague, and Sarah Patterson of Edina; five great-grandchildren; Adeline Patterson, Jonah and Evan Worke, and Stella and Macy Rybak; sister, Florence Petersen; brother, Dean "Smoky" Othoudt; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and five brothers.
