Margaret Mary (Mayer) Cluff, entered the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, July 9, 2012, "He has been waiting for you for 85 years".
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 13, 2012, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in North Mankato. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in St. Peter. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., Thursday at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, North Mankato and will continue one hour before service at the church on Friday. Memorials may be given to the Salvation Army or the Blue Earth County Veteran's Services.
Margaret was born on March 13, 1927, in Park Falls, WI to Kenneth R. and Mary Grace (McLaughlin) Mayer. Margaret was a graduate of Stanbrook Hall High School, Duluth. She attended Mankato State University and graduated as an x-ray tech from St. Mary's Hospital, Minneapolis. She entered the U.S. Navy Medical Corp. and served from 1951-54. She was united in marriage to Raymond J. Cluff on April 24, 1954 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in St. Peter. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, CCW, card clubs, and Birth Right. Margaret enjoyed playing cards and gardening. Margaret hated cooking, though she did manage a few hot dishes.
Margaret is survived by her three daughters, Mary-Grace Cluff of North Mankato, Laura Cluff of Mankato, Therese Cluff of Minneapolis; two sons, Christopher Cluff and Stephen Cluff both of Excelsior; sister, Catherine Desmond Owen of Monroe, WA; sister-in-law, Marjorie Mayer of Eau Claire, WI; brother-in-law, James Saunders of Littleton, CO; also many precious nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and cousins.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond in 2002; daughter, Catherine; two brothers, Patrick and Kenneth; sister, Elizabeth Saunders.
