Betty Ann Andersen, age 87, of North Mankato, died Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, North Mankato with Rev. Peter Nosbush, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Monday at Northview " North Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before service at the church on Tuesday. Memorials may be given to BENCHS.

Elizabeth Ann was born January 12, 1925 to Vern and Esther (Merrill) Benson in Blue Earth, MN. She graduated from Good Counsel Academy, Mankato State College, and Hamline University. She was united in marriage to Ronald Andersen in September 1946. Betty was employed as a teacher in Marshall and then District 77 from which she retired. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, and was a former Campfire Girl's Director. Betty was also a water safety instructor at Camp Patterson, member of the Mankato Rose Society, and the Sewing Club. She enjoyed golf, the boundary waters wilderness trips, and she loved dog's, especially her "Pepi". In honor of her love of golf, please come in golf attire.

Betty is survived by her husband, Ron of Montana; three children, Linda (Lance) Fish of Des Moines, IA, Gregg Ronald (Joanie) Andersen of Mankato, and Jon Benson Andersen (Alison Fradenburgh) of North Mankato; two grandchildren, Ryan and Erik Andersen; and extended family.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; one sister; and one brother.
