Judith M. Hogan, age 67, died on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Oak Terrace Assisted Living, after a 10 year battle with cancer.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 11 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church with Rev. John Wilmot officiating. Visitation will be on Friday, February 10 from 4-7 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at Northview - North Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will also continue one hour prior to the service at the church. A private family burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to The Pastor's Discretionary Fund at St. Joseph the Worker.
Judy was born on July 9, 1944 in Sioux Falls, S.D. to Dale and Ethel (Jansen) Holmstrom. She graduated from Good Counsel Academy and St. Teresa's College in Winona. On August 19, 1967 Judy was united in marriage to Bernard Hogan at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Judy raised her two daughters and then worked outside the home. She worked many places in Mankato including, Office Specialties, The Corner Malt Shop, La Petite, and the Mankato Clinic Pharmacy. Judy always provided excellent customer service. Judy enjoyed reading, knitting, cooking, golfing, video games, crossword puzzles, and playing bridge. She loved her coffee. She also enjoyed traveling, especially trips to Door County. Judy loved spending time at the family cabin on Duck Lake.
She is survived by her husband Bernie of Mankato; daughters, Jennifer (Paul) Peruzzi of Eden Prairie and their son, Ben and Kimberly Hogan of Eagan; siblings, Nancy (Michael) Kluck of Mankato, Tom (Jayne) Holmstrom of Stillwater, Janine (Edward) Stylski of Elk Grove Village, IL; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family would like to especially thank the Mayo Clinic Health Systems, Mankato Hospice and the staff at Oak Terrace for their wonderful care.
