Duane D. Arvidson, 74, of Cleveland, died Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Mayo Clinic Health System - Mankato.

Funeral Service 2:30 p.m., Saturday, February 4, at Kasota Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Saturday at Mankato Mortuary and one hour before service at church.

Duane was born August 16, 1937 to Erik and Edna (Farber) Arvidson in Aitkin. He graduated from Nicollet High School and served in the National Guard. He was employed with George Carlstrom Construction for 44 years before retiring. He was a member of the St. Peter American Legion and the Carpenters Union. He was a Golden Glove Boxer and coach, an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting, and spending time with family and friends.

Duane is survived by his loving wife, Karen; children, Debrah Postill, Wade, Ward, and Wynn Arvidson, Wendi (Todd) Crane, Sheila (Nyler) LeRoss, Greg (Michelle) Mettler, Mark (Peggy) Mettler; grandchildren, Elizabeth Brokhoff, Christian, Emily, and Melanie Crane, Noah (Kelly) Horvat, Nathan (Amanda) Mettler, Todd (Mandi) Mettler, Tyler, Cole, and Max Mettler, Tonya (Josh) Williams, Shane (Andria) Williams, Ryan Chabot; eleven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Rod and Arvid Arvidson; two sisters, Donna Walter and Tricia Bremer; many nieces and nephews.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents; son, Wes Arvidson; three brothers, Bob, Everett, and Rick Arvidson; sister, Deloris Palmquist.
