Troy Lynn Mueller, Mankato Police Officer, age 46, died Monday, January 16, 2012 at his home in Mankato.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Mankato, with Fr. John Kunz officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Friday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Mankato. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
Troy Lynn Mueller was born February 13, 1965 to Larry and Joyce (Murphy) Mueller in Austin, Minnesota. He graduated from Pacelli High School in Austin in 1983. Troy earned his Associate's Degree from Austin Community College and later graduated from Mankato State University in Law Enforcement. He married Jill Kindseth on June 23, 1990 at St. John's United Church of Christ in Faribault, Minnesota. Troy was employed since 1989 as a Patrol Officer with the Mankato Department of Public Safety, he received several awards for his service to the department. He worked as an EMT with Austin Ambulance, and later pursued his Paramedic degree while working with Mankato Gold Cross. He presently worked at River's Edge Hospital in St. Peter. He provided medical training for the police and fire department personnel. Troy was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He loved watching Notre Dame Football, playing fantasy football, and spending time with his daughters and his dogs, Hannah and Ozzy.
Troy is survived by his wife, Jill of Mankato; daughters, Nicole and Bethany of Mankato; father and mother, Larry and Joyce Mueller of Austin, MN; brother, Todd Mueller of Mankato; two sisters, Melissa (Bill) Capocasa of Hugo, MN, Michelle (Lee) Johnson of Prescott, WI; grandfather, Eugene Murphy of Austin, MN; father and mother-in-law, Mark and Mary Kindseth of Kenyon, MN; three brothers-in-law, Jeff Kindseth of Rochester, MN, John (Marsha) Kindseth of Pipestone, MN, Jay (Trudy) Kindseth of Kenyon, MN; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Troy was preceded in death by his infant sister, Theresa Mueller; maternal grandmother, Bernice Murphy; and paternal grandparents, Byron and Nora Mueller.
