Dorothy Reed

Dorothy Reed, age 87, of Madison Lake, died on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at her home.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 14 from 1:00-2:30 with a sharing of memories at 2:30 at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary. Burial will follow at Calvary All Saints Cemetery in Madison Lake.

Dorothy was born on October 14, 1924 to Harry and Rosabelle (Lamont) Wolters. On August 5, 1941 Dorothy was united in marriage to Edward Reed. They were blessed with nine children. They made their home in Madison Lake 40 years ago. Dorothy was devoted to her husband and adored her family. She was extremely proud of having 62 grandchildren. She also enjoyed going to Mystic Lake and spending time with her only sister and best friend, Jane.

She is survived by her children: Darla Rae Knutson (David Bittler), Diana Rose Reed, Patrick Edward (Lynn) Reed, Paul Lee (Cindy) Reed, Dixie Ann Friedrichs, Perry Joe (Rosanne) Reed, Debra Jean Reed (Terry Wehr), Dawn Marie (Mark) McCarthy, and Darcy Ronae Reed-Bruender; 24 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sister, Betty Jane (Warren) Scott; and brother, Charles (Carol) Wolters. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward, parents, two brothers, Bucky Wolters and Gordy Wolters, and son-in-law, Gary Friedrichs.
