Audrey L. Reed went to be with the Lord on Christmas Eve 2011

Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Vernon Center with Rev. Monte Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Vernon Center Cemetery. Visitation will be held two hours before the service on Wednesday at the church. Memorials are preferred to the donor's choice. Mankato Mortuary in charge of arrangements.

Audrey was born to Ole and Margaret (James) Sorenson on April 26, 1925 in Mankato, MN. She graduated from Mankato High and attended Mankato Commercial College. She worked as a secretary before catching the eye of a young sailor returning from the war. She married Burnell "Bud" H. Reed on July 3, 1948, together, they celebrated 53 years. They made their home in Mankato where they raised their three daughters. Audrey was a homemaker and bookkeeper for her husband's masonry contracting business. They were members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mankato where Audrey was a member of the Ladies Aid. She, along with her husband, were active in the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association. They moved to Vernon Center upon retirement. Above all, Audrey loved spending time with her family. She was much loved by her grandchildren and spent countless hours following their various activities and was their number one fan. She was blessed with four great grandchildren. Audrey enjoyed reading and politics, and was an avid Minnesota Twins fan, win or lose.

Audrey is survived by three daughters, Susan (Dave) Bergmark of Mankato, Wendy (Charlie) Marzinske of Vernon Center, and Julie (Kevin) Paap of rural Garden City; grandchildren/great-grandchildren, Anne (Tyler) Westman, Alison Bergmark, Erin (John) Krautkremer and children, Max and Eli Krautkremer, Kate (Jacque) Marcotte and children, Maggie and Alex Marcotte, Mike Marzinske (Monica Anderson), Matthew Paap and Andrew Paap (Samantha Hunt); sister, Hazel Rohwer of St. James; sisters-in-law, Pearl Klint of Fairmont, and Melva Huebner of St. Peter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burnell Reed in 2001.
