Donald J. Nowacki, age 58, of Mankato, died Saturday, December 24, 2011, at his residence following complications with Multiple Sclerosis.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 29, 2011, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in North Mankato, with Rev. Peter Nosbush officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday at NORTHVIEW - North Mankato Mortuary, 2060 Commerce Drive, and continues one hour prior to the mass at the church on Thursday.
Donald was born on August 9, 1953, in Mankato to Julian and Iona (Bublitz) Nowacki. He was a 1972 graduate of Willmar High School. Donald served in the U.S. Air Force from 1972 to 1976. Following his military service, he attended Mankato Technical College. Donald was united in marriage to Germaine Nosbush on September 8, 1979 in St. George. Donald was employed with Kato Engineering and later with PerfecSeal in Mankato until 1995 when he became disabled. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Mankato, VFW, and M.S. Society. Donald enjoyed watching television and sports.
Donald is survived by his two sons, Matthew (Sara) Nowacki of Mankato and Paul Nowacki of Crystal; two grandchildren, Alexis and Tyler; five siblings, Ken (Terry) Nowacki of Mankato, Diane (Jack) Schimek of Easton, Rosemary (Jim) Gardner of Winfield, KS, Edward Nowacki of Spicer, and John (Patty) Nowacki of Faribault; aunt, Marie Karnik of North Mankato; uncles, Tony Nowacki of El Paso, TX and Harold Kroubetz of Lake Crystal; also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three nieces and nephews.
