John Phillip Doran, age 79 of Marietta, Georgia, died Friday, December 25, 2009 in Marietta.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 1, 2010 at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake with Rev. Robert Schneider officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Madison Lake. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church on Friday. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the donor's choice.
John Phillip Doran was born January 1, 1930 to Phillip and Valerie (Eder) Doran in Mankato, Minnesota. He graduated from Mankato High School in 1948 and completed Business School. John served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage to Lucille C. Frederick in 1950, they later divorced in 1979.
John was employed in sales for Continental Can Co. in Minneapolis; Houston, TX; Atlanta, GA; Passaic, NJ; and Milwaukee, WI.
He is survived by his children, Deborah Doran of Reisterstown, MD, James (Melanie) Doran of Marietta, GA, Susan Doran of Charlotte, NC, Kathy Doran, Marietta, GA, David (Mary) Doran of Dacula, GA; grandchildren, Kathleen (Hal) Gresham, Michael Doran, Patrick Doran, Stephanie Doran, Kevin Doran, and Caitlin Doran; great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Kathleen Gresham; sisters, Monica Doran of New Hope, MN, Donna Daschner of Brooklyn Park, MN; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
