Ruth Amelia Williams, age 86, of Lake Crystal died, Friday, December 25, 2009 at Luther Memorial Home in Madelia.
Memorial Service will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday December 29, 2009 at Lake Crystal Mortuary. Burial will be in Lake Crystal Cemetery. A time of visitation with the family will follow the service.
Ruth was born in Lincoln Township, Blue Earth County, on January 15, 1923 to Fred and Emma (Molendorp) Barnett. She graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1940. Ruth married Donald J. Williams, July 14, 1941, at Ruth's Family Farm. Ruth was a bookkeeper at the family business, Williams Garage and Wrecker Service and Ambulance Service. She also worked at Welsh Heritage Apple Store and did home health care. Ruth was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Lake Crystal. She enjoyed baking, embroidery, cleaning, and spending time with her family.
Ruth is survived by her son, Ron (Donna) Williams of Lake Crystal, daughter, Judie (Stan) Edwards of rural Mankato, daughter-in law, Gloria Williams of Lake Crystal; six grandchildren, David Williams, Donald Williams, Rita (Joe) Paulsen, Jay (Dawn) Edwards, Stacey (Brian) Jones, Vickie (Eric) Miller; seven great-grandchildren, Brendan & Christian Williams, Brittany Williams, Bethany Williams, Chance & Shelby Jones, Parker Miller; two great-great-grandsons, Ian & Will; three sisters, Hazel Padgett of Brainerd, Edythe Stahnke of St. Paul, and Mildred Askea of Chico, CA; two sisters-in-law, Geraldine Barnett and Mary Williams both of Lake Crystal; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Williams; son, Doug Williams; two grandsons, Jeff Edwards and Mark Williams; two brothers, Frank and Alfred; four sisters, Mabel, Vera, Irene, and Eunice.
