Kathryn May Cutts, age 91, of Mankato, died Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
Memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 21, 2009 at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Mankato, with Rev. Lynn Strandt officiating. Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. on Sunday at Mankato Mortuary, and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Twin Valley Council/Boy Scouts or First Congregational UCC.
Kathryn was born on June 25, 1918 in Winchester, New Hampshire. She was the daughter of John M. and Florence (Byam) Sisson. Kathryn was a graduate of Winchester High School. She was united in marriage to William "Bill" R. Cutts on November 7, 1942 in Yuma, AZ. During WWII, Kathryn was employed as a "Rosie the Riveter" with Consolidated Vultee Aircraft in San Diego, CA. She and Bill moved to Mankato in 1957. Kathryn was employed as a nurses' aide with Immanuel Hospital, and later Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital. She was a member of First Congregational UCC, Red Hat Ladies, and a local group of retired nurses. Kathryn enjoyed ceramics and making rugs at the Summit Center.
Kathryn is survived by her husband, Bill Cutts Sr. of Mankato; six children, Cynthia Babb of Omaha, NE, Sharon (Buzz) Larson of Leesburg, FL, Bill (Savorn) Cutts Jr. of Mankato, Kathy (Jay) Larsen of Brookings, SD, Jim (Dawn) Cutts of Merida, Mexico, and Randy Cutts of Goose Creek, SC; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Nancy Brunelle of Greenfield, MA; also many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, and one brother.
