Douglas Owen Jones, age 56, of Lake Crystal died unexpectedly of cardiac failure in Green Bay, WI on Thursday, December 10, 2009.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at First Presbyterian Church in Lake Crystal with Vicar Robert Lund officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 " 7 p.m., Monday at Lake Crystal Mortuary. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society, ISJ Hospice, or ISJ Heart Center.

Doug was born August 20, 1953 to Wallace and Deloris (Roberts) Jones in Mankato, MN. He graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1971 and attended Inver Grove Community College. Doug was united in marriage to Ann Gieseke on March 26, 1977 at St. John's Lutheran Church in South Branch, MN. He was a farmer in the area and worked for Gustafson Drainage for many years. He was presently working for Cliff Viessman Inc. Doug was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Crystal and was a former member of the Lake Crystal Community Parks and Rec. board. He was also greatly involved with the Lake Crystal boys and girls FastPitch Softball Association.

Doug enjoyed boating, and watching sports, especially when his children and grandson participated.

He is survived by his wife Ann of Lake Crystal; three children, Elizabeth (Bjorn) Aelony of Lake Crystal; Bryan Jones and his son Zachary of Burnsville, Abby Jones a student at Winona State University; four siblings, Nancy (Gary) Nickels of Mankato, Shirley (Dr. Scott) Helmers of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Judy (Dennis) Norman of Prior Lake, Peggy (David) Moline of New London; brother-in-law, Gary More of Lake Crystal; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Robert and Lorraine Gieseke of South Branch; two step-sisters, Linda Erdos and Carol Roberts; six in-laws, Arthur (Ellen) Gieseke of Litchfield, Eric (Dawn) Gieseke of Woodstock, VT, Sarah (Al) Garcia of South Branch, Wayne (Val) Gieseke of Barron, WI, Peter (Amy) Gieseke of South Branch, Amy Gieseke and fiance, Dennis David of LeCenter; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews; several aunts and uncles.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Deloris; step-mother, Beverly Jones; two sisters, Donna Kay Jones, and Pamela More.
