Stephen "Worms" Weimert, age 62, of Mankato died, Saturday, November 14, 2009.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato, with Rev. Ted Hottinger, officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday at Mankato Mortuary. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mankato. Memorials are preferred to the Elk's Youth Camp, Nicollet Conservation Youth Program, or donor's choice.
Stephen was born November 9, 1947 to Gerald and Lucille (Hinkel) Weimert in Mankato. He graduated from Mankato High School in 1966. He was a member of the Army Reserves. He was united in marriage to Cinda K. Schaub on May 7, 1976 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Mankato. He was a lifelong co-owner of Kato Sanitation and Ponderosa Landfill of Blue Earth County. He was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Mankato Elk's Club, Redman Club, and Nicollet Conservation Club. Stephen enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working in his garage.
Stephen is survived by his wife, Cinda Weimert of Mankato; three children, Heidi (Sean) McFarland of Bozeman, MT, Bree (Bob) Meyer of Madison Lake, Jared (Shandy) Weimert of Mankato; grandchildren, Noah Weimert, Jackson and Savannah Meyer, Juliana and Kassiani McFarland; two sisters, Theresa (Tom) McLaughlin of Mankato, Denise (John) Strusz-Rice of Medford, OR; mother-in-law, Lorraine Schaub of Mankato; two sisters-in-law, Jody Weimert of Janesville and Karen (Joe) Hanzel of Jordan; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Stephen was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mark; and father-in-law, Richard B. Schaub.
