Veronica F Wesely

Veronica F. Wesely, age 89 of Mankato, died Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at Pathstone Living in Mankato.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. rosary, Friday, November 13, 2009 at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at church.

Veronica was born December 13, 1919 to Frederick and Laura (Rahm) Mulert in St. Benedict, Iowa. She attended Claremont Rural Schools. On February 18, 1943, Veronica was united in marriage to Robert B. Wesely at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Owatonna, MN. Together they ran their store, Wesely Grocery and later ran Robert Wesely Distributing. Veronica also worked many years at Woolworth's. She was a member of the Catholic Foresters, a volunteer for the Pastorial Center at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, and a volunteer at Gus Johnson Plaza. Veronica loved vegetable and flower gardening, canning, and playing cards. Above all, she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Veronica is survived by her six children: Ken Wesely, Gene (Corrine) Wesely, Tom (Donna) Wesely, Rich (Diane) Wesely, Rosie (Chuck) Bernard, and Don (Joan) Wesely; fourteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Veronica was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; and eight siblings.
