Mary Elizabeth Barrett, age 67, died as a result of cancer October 26, 2009 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date.
Mary was born October 18, 1942 in Mountain Lake, MN to Harvey and Verona (Harder) Goossen. She graduated from Mountain Lake High-School and obtained her Master's Degree from Mankato State. Mary was united in marriage to Robert Barrett in Mankato on March 16, 1979. She was employed by the city of Mankato working as a Housing Director.
Mary is survived by her brother, John Goossen of Mapleton; sister, Marcia Goossen and husband, Douglas Uhrhammer of Big Lake; nephew, Will Urhammer; two step-children, Geoff Barrett of New York City and Annie (Wade) DeArmond of Racine, WI; step-niece, April Kirchner; step-nephew, Nathan Uhrhammer and many friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
