Gail M. Thompson, age 80, of Lake Crystal, died Friday, June 6, 2008 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at Zion Lutheran Church in Lake Crystal, with Rev. Nancy Dreier officiating. Burial will be in Lake Crystal Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 " 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Lake Crystal Mortuary and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Memorials may be given to the Zion Lutheran Building Fund, ISJ Foundation, or to the donor's choice.
Gail was born January 28, 1928 in Barrett to Ralph and Selma (Swenson) Stockdill. Gail graduated from Barrett High School in 1946. She was united in marriage to Norman Thompson on October 28, 1950 in Barrett. Gail worked for twenty-seven years at the Lake Crystal National Bank, which later became MinnStar Bank. Gail was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lake Crystal, AFS, Lake Crystal Chamber of Commerce, and the Lake Crystal American Legion Auxiliary. She was an avid reader, enjoyed embroidery, bird-watching, and was a fan of all Minnesota sports teams.
Gail is survived by her husband, Norman of Lake Crystal; son, Michael (Patty) of Lake Crystal; grandson, Damon (Julie) of Winsted; great-grandson, Bryce and one great-grandchild on the way; half-brother, Norton Stockdill of Hoffman; brother, James (Joyce) Stockdill of Boulder, CO; sister-in-law, Kim Stockdill of Arizona; also nieces and nephews; special friends, Mary Landkamer, Kathy Telecky, and JoAnn Richmond.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ron and John; and two sisters-in-law, Linda and Lorraine.
