Laura Lea Otsea, age 48, of Mankato died Monday, June 2, 2008 at Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital, Mankato.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 5, 2008 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Mankato, with Rev. Al Girtz officiating. Visitation will be one hour before service at the church on Thursday. Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Laura was born May 11, 1960 to Fred and Amelia (Hoffrogge) Otsea in Mankato. She graduated from Wilson Campus High School in 1978 and North West Community College, Powell, Wyoming. She was united in marriage to Corry Dreke on March 6, 1982 in Mankato, they were later divorced. Laura was employed in horse management throughout the United States and as a restaurant manager in Mankato and Two Harbors. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Laura enjoyed judging and showing horses, nature and the outdoors, crafts, art, and her dogs, Cody and Kala.
Laura is survived by her son, Derek Dreke and fianc", Meaghan Strack of Two Harbors; step-son, Joe Origas (Sam Vogen) of Mapleton; parents, Fred and Amelia "Millie" Otsea; brother, Keith Otsea all of Mankato; sister, Paula Paradee of Sacred Heart; six nieces and four nephews, Justin, Martin, Lisa, Rachel, Tammy, Robin, Daniel, Sarah, Esther, and Adam; close friend, Lisa Zattler of Mankato; special friend, Scott Mutch of Mankato.
Laura was preceded in death by her grandparents.
