Marion R. Pollei, age 86, of Mankato died Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at her home.
Memorial service will held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 30, 2008 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Mankato. Burial will be in Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery, Mankato. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., Thursday at Mankato Mortuary. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to Our Savior's Lutheran Church or an organization of the donor's choice.
Marion was born January 5, 1922 to John and Martha (Hartung) Brenner in Lime Township, Blue Earth County. She graduated from Mankato High School in 1939 and was united in marriage to Gerald J. "Jerry" Pollei on October 2, 1943 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Mankato. Marion was employed by S.S. Kresege's from 1939 to 1949, then the family business "Jerry's Plumbing" from 1948 until the present, was a greeter at Wal-Mart from 1991 to 2002, and a lifelong homemaker for her family. Marion has been an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran since 1950, being a Sunday school teacher, member of the afternoon guild, and bible study. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, entertaining family and friends, and flower gardening.
Marion is survived by four children, Roger (Carol) Pollei, Susan (Garvin) Eichhorst all of Mankato, Barbara (Ken Jones) Pollei of West St. Paul, and Steve Pollei of Mankato; six grandchildren, Mike (Michelle) Pollei, Tracy Pollei, Carly (Matt Lee) Eichhorst, Cassie Eichhorst, Krista Eichhorst, and Amber Jones; three great-grandchildren, Emma and Sarah Pollei, Calder Lee; nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her faithful companion dog, Missy.
Marion was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald "Jerry" in July 1990; and a brother, Harold Brenner.
