Esther D. Zinke, age 81, of Lake Crystal, died on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at the Luther Memorial Home in Madelia.
Burial will be on Friday, October 9 at 1:00 p.m. at the Lake Crystal Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with Vicar Robert Lund officiating. Visitation will follow the service. Lake Crystal Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Esther was born to John and Winnie (Boersma) Visher on February 1, 1928 in rural Lake Crystal. Esther graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1946 and attended Mankato Commercial College. She worked at John Morrell Company in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and at the former C&E Caf" in Lake Crystal.
Esther married William A. Zinke on June 14, 1952 in Lake Crystal and they farmed together. Esther worked at the Pioneer Family Restaurant in Lake Crystal from 1986 to 1998. Her hobbies included reading, crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles, and working in her garden.
She is survived by her two sons, Albert and Norbert of Lake Crystal, one brother, Wesley (Carol) Visher of Madelia, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, Harold, Harry, and Milo, one stepbrother, Gordon Stevenson, and four sisters-in-law.
