Bernice R Bluhm

Bernice R. Bluhm, age 85, of rural Pemberton, MN died Friday, September 25, 2009 at Immanuel Saint Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Medo Lutheran Church with Rev. David Danner officiating. Burial will be in Medo Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday.

Bernice was born on February 19, 1924 at her parent's home in Rural North Mankato. She was born to Ruben and Emma (Tillman) Peterson. She was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Mankato. She attended Kerns Rural School for eight years and Mankato High School and Mankato Teacher's College. She taught school in Pemberton where she met her husband, Thane Bluhm who passed away in 1983. They were married for 35 years and were the parents of eleven children,

Bernice is survived by seven of her children; Collin (Cheryl), Randall (Marilee), Holly (Terry) Traynor, Jennifer (Bryan) Bach, Trent, Troy, and Adam (Michelle); brother, Quentin Peterson; sister, Arlene (Howard) Gillson, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Thane; parents; two brothers, Clinton and Russell; two daughters, Melanie and Kerry; two infant sons, Winfield and Boyd; and sister-in-law, Maxine Peterson.
