Dale Edward "Pete" Butson, age 80, of Lake Crystal, died Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital, Mankato.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Crystal. Visitation will be held Friday, September 25, 2009 at Lake Crystal Mortuary from 4-8 p.m. and continues one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be held at a later date at Garden City Cemetery.

Pete was born April 25, 1929 to Harry and Mary (Myers) Butson in Mankato, the youngest of thirteen children. He graduated from Garden City High School in 1947. Pete was united in marriage to Ivalea Winters on November 5, 1948 in Garden City. He farmed in Garden City Township from 1955 to 1995. Pete was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He enjoyed camping with family, horseshoes, bowling, playing cards, fishing, woodworking, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Pete is survived by his wife, Ivalea; three children, Jeff (Judy) Butson of Litchfield, Randy (Lisa) Butson of Edgerton, Deb (Jeff) Floren of Kenyon; eleven grandchildren, Jared (Jill) Butson, Janelle (Mike) Greenough, Megan, Macy, Whitney and Wyatt Butson, Jessica (Darin) Johnson, Josh Floren, Greg (Chelsea) Floren, Sarah (Brian) Christensen, Robby Floren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Mildred Young of Madison; also many nieces and nephews.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Rodney, Lee, James, Earl, John, and Robert; five sisters, Mary, Ruth, Verna, Erma, and Beulah.
