Paul D Sorgatz

Paul Dean Sorgatz, age 53, of Lake Crystal, died Thursday, September 10, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at Zion Lutheran Church in Lake Crystal with Rev. Nancy Dreier officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday at Lake Crystal Mortuary and will continue one hour before the service Tuesday at the church.

Paul was born on May 23, 1956 to Burton and Marlene (Moon) Sorgatz in Mankato. He graduated from Lake Crystal High School in 1974. Paul was united in marriage to Janet Pickett on December 3, 1977 in Fairmont. He worked at SMC as a truck driver. Paul was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking, canning, and mushroom hunting.

Paul is survived by his wife, Janet Sorgatz; two daughters and their husbands, Amber and Adam Pahl and their daughter, Grace, and Nikki and Joe Bidwell and their children, Miranda and Rowan; father, Burt (Nancy) Sorgatz; brother, Mark (Candace) Sorgatz; sister, Tammy Kral; mother-in-law, Betty Wohlford; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many wonderful friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his mother, Marlene in 1991; and father-in-law, Ken Wohlford in 2004.
