Julie Lynn (Marden) Deinken, age 47 of Chaska, and formerly of Mankato, died unexpectedly Saturday, August 15, 2009 at her home.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 21, 2009 at Belgrade United Methodist Church in North Mankato. Burial will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park, Mankato. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, August 20, 2009 at Mankato Mortuary and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

Julie was born on May 15, 1962 in Mankato to James and Lorraine (Midthun) Marden. She attended school in Mankato and graduated from Mankato West High School in 1980. She attended Mankato Area Vocational-Technical Institute where she earned a LPN degree. While living in Mankato, she was employed at the Mankato Clinic and most recently was employed at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia as a primary nurse for her beloved friend, Dr. Sabina Khan, MD. She was a member of Belgrade United Methodist Church in North Mankato. Julie enjoyed spending time with her children and her grandchildren. She was a passionate music lover who played her flute with unwavering confidence. She also loved to cook, play cards, and was an animal lover. She was known as "Mama D" and was considered a second mom to many of her children's friends.

Julie is survived by her children, William (Nicole) Inman of Windom, James Inman of Mankato, and Amy Deinken (fianc"e Duncan Borgmann) of Chaska; granddaughter, Judith Inman of Aberdeen, SD; step-grandson, Damian Borgmann of Chaska; husband, Richard Deinken of Morton; parents, James and Lorraine Marden of Mankato; siblings, Tim (Marie) Marden of Apple Valley, Patricia (Marden) Brown of Mankato, Sandra (Michael) Bach of Mankato; mother and father-in-law, Harriet and Jerome Deinken of Morton; her constant companion, Tooker; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Michael Brown.
