Paul Clarence Mann, age 81, of rural St. Peter, died Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at his home.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 17, 2009 at Belgrade Avenue United Methodist Church in North Mankato. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. on Sunday at Mankato Mortuary and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Memorials are preferred to Belgrade Avenue United Methodist Church.

Paul was born on January 8, 1928 in Belgrade Township, Nicollet County, MN. He was the son of Clarence and Mabel (Brown) Mann. Paul graduated from Mankato High School. He was united in marriage to Elaine Purrier on February 2, 1951 in North Mankato. After Elaine's death in 1984, Paul married Lorene Voigt on December 28, 1985 in North Mankato. Paul farmed until 1956 in Nicollet County. He was a bus driver for the City of Mankato from 1956 until he retired in 2007. He was also employed as a custodian with District 77 Schools for 30 years. Paul was a member of Belgrade Avenue United Methodist Church. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing piano, gardening, flowers, and bird watching.

Paul is survived by his wife, Lorene of rural St. Peter; children, Roger (Wendy) Mann of Waseca, Marilyn (Andy) Frederick of rural Mankato, and Arland (Tami) Mann of Mankato; step-children, Connie (Lester) Giles and John (Melissa) Voigt all of rural St. Peter; nine grandchildren, Brian (Eve) Mann, David (Callie) Mann, Sara (Mike) Breitbarth, Jesse Mann, Marissa Mann, Christian Wilson (Kate Meyer), Dustin (Jodie) Wilson, David Voigt, and Laura Voigt; three great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Jamison, and Jayden Mann; one brother, Howard Mann of North Mankato; one sister, Lorraine Johnson of North Mankato; two sisters-in-law, Sharon Mann of rural Mankato and Aline Mann of North Mankato; also several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Elaine; one brother, Lloyd Mann; brother-in-law, Stanley Johnson; nephew, Terry Mann.
